On August 19, the winner of the design award, Formex Nova - Nordic Designer of the Year, will be announced. Formex established the award five years ago to promote high-quality Nordic design. The award goes to a young designer who is working in the Nordic region and has been selected by an expert jury.
Adforum, the world-leading organiser of trade fairs for the pulp and paper industry, and Elmia, whose fairs include the world’s leading bioenergy fair, have agreed to combine their previous fairs to create a strong and timely meeting place in the forest industry. Starting in 2016 the previous fairs will all form part of International Wood Biorefining Week.
Last Wednesday, at the IMEX exhibition in Frankfurt, it was announced which congress and trades fair facility had won the 2015 INCON Digital Infrastructure Award. . This year, Stockholmsmässan received an "Honourable Mention" and the winner was Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre.
The architecture firm Codesign will create the entrance hall exhibition based on Nordic Essence, the theme of this fall’s Formex interior design and gifts exhibition. The concept uses the Nordic craft traditions, lifestyles and architecture as a point of departure and has been given the working name, Huskatten (Housecat).
Bioeconomy Innovation Forum, organized by Adforum and Nordisk Papperstidning & Biobusiness, are pleased to announce that the two leading R& D centers in the forest industry, Innventia and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, have joined the event as conference partners.
Nordic Essence is this fall's trend theme for the Formex interior design and gift fair that will be held August 19-22, 2015. It refers to a single cohesive idea that encompasses everything from building facades to everyday items and interior design details. Inspiration for the theme comes from our nature and surroundings in the Nordic region.
The superlatives have been plentiful about this year’s Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, which ended this past weekend. Many have said that it was the best one yet. In total, almost 40,000 visitors made their way to Stockholmsmässan, and the interest of the Fair is growing in all areas.

Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, the world's largest meeting place for Scandinavian furniture and lighting design, kicks off on February 3-7. Visitors from all over the world will come to Stockholmsmässan to see the latest trends in furniture and lighting. Stockholm Design Week is held in parallel with around 60 design events arranged throughout the city.
Stockholmsmässan’s exhibition halls were positively effervescent with spring sensations when Formex, the Nordic region’s largest meeting place for interior design, got underway last week on 14-17 January. Over a four-day period, the interiors and gift industry gathered to make spring purchases, meet and take a look at the latest trends.
Formex Formidable is an annual design award to encourage and reward interesting, qualitative and contemporary design. The winner of the juried Formex Formidable 2014 is the Accent thermos from Sagaform, designed by Gustav Hallén. The honorary award, People's Choice, goes to Åkerlapp a collection of linen in cooperation between Växbo Lin and Note Design Studio.
