Welcome to Formex - the largest meeting place for Nordic interior design

Press briefing and a light breakfast 

Thursday 19 of August 8:30 – 9:30 am in the Trend Restaurant, hall B

- The architecture firm Codesign will present the Theme Exhibition, based on Nordic Essence.

- The nominees of the design award Formex Nova – Nordic Designer of the year will be presented.

- Li Pamp and the architect Mårten Claesson from Claesson Koivisto Rune will talk about design products importance in an architecture context

- Christina Olsson, Event Manager of Formex, introduces this year’s new features

- A presentation of the products competing for the annual design award - Formex Formidable - to encourage and award interesting contemporary design

Formex is the largest meeting place for Nordic interior design. Formex has about 900 exhibitors and features products within interior design, gifts, children’s products, fashion and accessories, and more. It’s a place that gathers national and international buyers, agents, wholesalers, importers, designers, producers and media from the entire interior design and gift industry.

The fair is only open to the industry, no general public.

Highlights during FORMEX

The House Cat
The architecture firm Codesign will create the entrance hall exhibition based on Nordic Essence, the theme of this fall’s Formex interior design and gifts exhibition. The concept uses the Nordic craft traditions, lifestyles and architecture as a point of departure and has been given the working name, Huskatten (The House Cat).

Formex Nova
On the evening of August 19th, the winner of the design award, Formex Nova - Nordic Designer of the Year, will be announced. Formex established the award five years ago to promote high-quality Nordic design. The award goes to a young designer who is working in the Nordic region and has been selected by an expert jury.

Formex Formidable
Formex Formidable is an annual design award to encourage and award interesting, qualitative and contemporary design. Twenty final products have been selected by the jury and the winner will be announced at Formex in January, the jury´s choice and the People´s choice.

Design Students Selected by Formex
Trend expert Stefan Nilsson has for the fifth time, at Formex’s request, selected twelve of his favorite design students recently graduated from Konstfack, Beckmans, Malmstens and Berghs, among other institutions.

Konsthantverkscentrum – KHVC the craft center
Many of the craft center KHVC’s member are artists who work with small-scale in-house production. This contributes to a more resource-aware and sustainable society. It’s maintaining the tradition of small-scale, unique and highly individual items that makes art craftsmanship so authentic.

Christmas trends
The trend expert and Christmas lover Stefan Nilsson has interpreted three of the big up-coming Christmas trends for 2015.
