For the love of food, inspiration and discussion

GastroNord, which will be held May 6-9 at Stockholmsmässan, is bubbling with a passion for food and inspiration. The Entrance Hall will be transformed into an interactive kitchen filled with activities, and the fair becomes a meeting place for discussions and inspiring exhibitions. At the same time, the other halls are hosting Vinordic, the beverage trade show, and the Bocuse d´Or Europe chef championships.

Among other things, GastroNord offers visitors:

An interactive stage
The Entrance Hall is transformed into an open kitchen consisting of three islands at which different food-oriented activities will be held. For example, representatives from the Swedish National Culinary Team will be preparing food, a sharpening school will be run by Sundqvist and Sebastien Boudet will be offering expert tips on baking with sourdough. There will also be cook-offs between chefs from the TV program, Köksmästarna. The event is being arranged by AVEQIA.

The Smakriket label
Smakriket is a label certifying that a product comes from one of 21 regions in Sweden. The label guarantees that the product and its components have features that are unique to the area in which they were produced. The aim is to highlight the different regions and via the label show what Sweden has to offer. AG:12 and AG:13

Gastronomic discussions
Another initiative to promote Sweden's food culture is Gastronomic Discussions. Various food-related professions will be meeting here to discuss how to develop Swedish food. For example, Hanna Halpern, President of the Chef of the Year Association, will be leading a discussion on equality in the food industry and discussions will be held about gastronomic regions, Swedish table drinks and sustainable food. An important part of Gastronomic Discussions is also the Matverk competition. At GastroNord, visitors can meet the winners from the 2014 competition and taste the results from the competition. AG:62

The dressed table
Duni and designer Lars Wallin are setting the tables at the Bocuse d´Or Europe's gala banquet on May 8 in the Blue Hall of City Hall. An identical table will be on exhibit at GastroNord, as well as a unique dress made by Lars Wallin using Duni's most exclusive material, Evolin. Duni is one of the main sponsors of Bocuse d’Or 2014. At GastroNord visitors can view an additional six exhibitions with tables set for a “party” theme.
