Formex 2026 platform for Design Talents unveiled

On 25–27 August 2026, Formex– the Nordic region’s leading meeting place for interior design – will take place again at Stockholmsmässan. In the ever-popular Design Talents area of the fair, emerging designers are given the opportunity to showcase their work to buyers, producers and media. Those interested in exhibiting in this area go through an application process, with a jury of industry experts and established designers selecting the final participants.

This year’s jury consists of Cissi Blomqvist, founder of Oängslig Kreativitet; Jesper Tillberg, Editor-in-Chief of Plaza Interiör; Ann-Louise Andrén, founder and Creative Director of Ceannis; and chair of the jury Lisa Bengtsson, pattern designer and entrepreneur.

“Each year, I am equally impressed by the energy, creativity and drive among the participants. This year’s entries offer a wonderful mix of expressions, ideas and perspectives. It is both exciting and encouraging to see the next generation of entrepreneurs and designers take their first steps into the industry,” summarises Lisa Bengtsson after the jury’s selection for August.

Design Talents has been part of Formex since 2008 and aims to support the professional development of future creatives, serving as a stepping stone into the industry—a platform where many of today’s well-known designers began their journey. At each fair, the Design Talents jury selects a winner: the designer who stands out among the talents is awarded the Best in Show prize. The winner is announced on stage during the Formex press breakfast on the opening day.

The Best in Show winner receives coaching, a comprehensive marketing package during and after the fair, as well as a complimentary stand at the next edition of Formex.

“This year’s Design Talents presents an exciting mix of design, creativity and entrepreneurship. Some participants have already built strong brands around their products, while others are just at the beginning of their journey. What inspires me most is the courage to turn an idea into reality. In the Design Talents area, we meet individuals who dare to believe in their ideas and create—long before they know exactly where their journey will lead. I already have a few clear favourites,” says Cissi Blomqvist.
