Formex invites you to a playful cake celebration with Saša Antić and Niklas Hansen

Formex’s spring theme “Celebrate Traditions” comes to life as the entrance hall transforms into a playful, cake-inspired installation. From January 20–22, 2026, interior stylist and art director Saša Antić, together with set designer Niklas Hansen, will present this year’s entrance exhibition – a vibrant and immersive experience that invites visitors to celebrate life, dreams, and imagination.

A sensory journey from childhood celebrations to contemporary design

The installation is designed to engage all the senses – sight, scent, taste, sound, and touch. Drawing inspiration from childhood festivities and a sense of playful abundance, it merges classic pastry craftsmanship with contemporary design trends. The result is an installation that celebrates creativity, imagination, and the joy of making – much like sharing a cake with others.

“We want visitors to step into a world where imagination meets craftsmanship, where every detail is like an ingredient in one big, shared cake. Through unexpected materials – textiles, glass, scents, and sounds – we aim to blur the boundaries between art, craft, and experience,” said Saša Antić and Niklas Hansen.

“Formex is all about celebrating creativity in all its forms – just like this year’s entrance exhibition. We want visitors to feel the same joy as stepping into a true cake celebration, and it’s such a pleasure to bring this vision to life together with Saša and Niklas,” said Sonja Björk Ebert, Project Manager at Formex.

Playful colors and sweetness for all the senses

The Formex entrance exhibition is more than a visual experience – it invites visitors to play, explore, and be inspired. In the entrance hall, visitors are greeted by tall, sculptural elements reaching toward the ceiling, accompanied by seating and details at varying levels, all inspired by sprinkles and candies. The result is a playful, inviting atmosphere filled with surprise and curiosity.

“We hope visitors leave the exhibition with a smile, a sense of wonder – and maybe a little sugar in their soul,” said Saša Antić and Niklas Hansen.
