Three trend installations at the next Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair will showcase the interior trends we’ll be seeing in 2013. For the third year running, these exciting and inspiring installations are brought to us courtesy of designer Jan Rundgren.
On 17-20 January, it will be time for Young Designers at Formex. This will be the tenth occasion the zone for promising new designers is featured. Over the years, quite a few exhibitors at Young Designers have achieved success and public acclaim for their design work.
The Nordbygg exhibition is attracting more interest than ever before. Although there’s 18 months to go before the next exhibition in April 2014, 60 percent of the exhibition space is already booked. “This is quite unique in the events world and it illustrates the importance of strong industry meeting places in difficult economic times,” says Peter Söderberg, Event manager at Nordbygg.
Future trends with their origins in Swedish design tradition will be featured in an exhibition courtesy of Materialbiblioteket at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair on 5-9 February. The exhibition is aimed at professional architects, designers and marketers, and has been produced in association with Oversight Trends.

This will be the third year in a row that Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair stages its combined exhibition and talk show Hello!, an initiative by the fair to start a conversation about contemporary and future workplaces. This year’s theme is ‘Communication’ and the task of interpreting the main thematic design will be shared by Swedish architect Gert Wingårdh and Finnish illustrator Kustaa Saksi.
For the ninth year running, the Design Bar at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair will be created by a Nordic designer or design team. Norwegian designer Daniel Rybakken has been given the assignment in 2013.

That was at Greenhouse, the arena for new designers that is part of Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair. Now he’s returning as a well-established designer. Mr. Oki Sato, founder of the Nendo design studio, has been named as the tenth Guest of Honor at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair 2013.
Once again the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair 2013 will include an opportunity for young designers to exhibit their work to manufacturers and visitors from the furniture and lighting industry, as well as the general public, as part of the Greenhouse exhibition, which this year will be the work of the Note Design Studio.
Formex continues to cement its position as the leading event in Nordic interior design. The autumn fair attracted 973 exhibitors, 783 media representatives and 23,407 visitors from 54 countries.
