    Design is most powerful when it answers our questions about everything new happening in the world. And to get answers we need to ask questions. With the exhibition at the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, February 3-7, this year´s Guest of Honour Ilse Crawford wants to engage visitors with a series of questions.

  • Highlights at This Spring’s Formex

    ​Wednesday 14 January sees the start of Formex, the Nordic region’s largest trade fair for interior design and gifts. The entire industry converges on Stockholmsmässan to make spring purchases and take a look at the latest trends at the fair, which lasts for four days and features 829 exhibitors.

  • Experimental methods in focus in design zone ‘Twelve’

    ​The second-ever ‘Twelve’, Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair’s exhibition zone for twelve established Nordic designers, will be held on 3-7 February 2015. The theme of the exhibition this time is ‘Methods’ and the participating designers represent different design methods, from performance to digital presentation and crowdfunding.

  • Trend Talks and Stockholm’s Best Semla at Formex

    ​Visitors to Formex on 14-17 January 2015 can enjoy the smorgasbord of knowledge and inspiration on offer. Treats include several food-for-thought talks about everything from cookery and meal trends to economics. The choosing of Stockholm’s best semla and celebration of Tulip Day’s 25th anniversary are among other fair highlights.

  • Nordic food and design meet at Formex

    Nordic food and design have been a big hit abroad in recent years. At Formex, on January 14-17, 2015, visitors will be presented with a superb all-around experience at Nordic Eat, a temporary pop-up restaurant where food and design are intertwined through Nordic Neat, the spring trend theme.

  • Emerging design stars in Greenhouse

    To Greenhouse, designers and design colleges from all over the world are welcome to apply to participate. The Jury has now selected the exhibitors in Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair’s hall for young and up-and-coming designers in 2015. They include Frej Wichmann, M-S-D-S Studio, Malin Bobeck and Pettersen & Hein. 33 designers or design teams and 30 design colleges will be taking part in all.

  • Inside Scandinavian Design – an exhibition about the work and values within the Scandinavian furniture industry

    What are the values of the modern Scandinavian furniture industry? What roles do innovation, craftsmanship and the close relationship between construction and production play in the creation of a piece of furniture? At the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair on February 3-7, 2015, the Inside Scandinavian Design exhibition will highlight on important aspects of the work behind Scandinavian furniture.

  • New generation of designers in Young Designers at Formex

    ​Many of today's established designers made their breakthrough exhibiting at Young Designers, Formex's platform for young, up-and-coming designers. Participants in the spring edition, January 14-17, 2015, will include Eduards Accessories, MÚK and Maria Sandberg Textiles for the first time.

    Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, February 3–7, 2015, has invited four interior designers to the Trend Exhibition 2015/16 to design spaces that could be found both in the home and in public places: a hotel lobby, lunch room, home office and bedroom.

    At the Formex interior design and gifts exhibition on January 14-17, 2015, the Nordic kitchen will be in the spotlight at the exhibition's pop-up restaurant, which this time will be called Nordic Eat. In creating the area, the food has as much importance as the interior design.

  • Design bar with a scent of Norrland

    At the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, February 3–7, 2015, the Design Bar will be integrated into a new knowledge area that will also include a stage and an exhibition. The task of creating an overall concept for the area went to designer Mattias Stenberg, who offers visitors the pallette of Norrland’s colors, materials and flavors – with a clearly modern twist.

    Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair is inviting, for the twelfth year running, a highly acclaimed international designer or design studio to create a lounge in Stockholmsmässan’s entrance hall. This time, the assignment goes to Ilse Crawford, a designer, academic and creative director with the goal of putting people's needs and desires at the center of everything she does.

  • A world of its own at Greenhouse – in the mind of a designer

    In 2015 Note Design Studio will design Greenhouse, Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair's hall for promising young designers. A visit to Greenhouse should be like stepping into a designer’s mind – a space for reflection and projection of dreams. For the next Fair, which will take place from February 3-7, 2015, Greenhouse also has a new jury.

  • The fall season starts at Formex

    Formex, Scandinavia's largest meeting place for interior design, ended this weekend. Over four days, the interior design and gift industry gathered at Stockholmsmässan to place orders for the fall season and view the latest trends.

  • Design and Sustainability at Formex

    At the Formex interior design and gifts fair on 13-16 August, Lotta Ahlvar will be presenting a daily inspirational talk on the theme “Sustainability Trends”. She will be on stage talking to different guests, including fashion designer Lars Wallin, artist Lina Sofia Lundin, and designers Katarina Evans and Katarina Brieditis.

  • Creative power at Formex – stories and memories from different cultures become patterns

    Livstycket is a contemporary knowledge and design center in Tensta, where women from around the world are active. Livstycket’s textile prints will be on display at the Formex interior design and gift fair, August 13–16, and the patterns for print and embroidery will be demonstrated in workshops. Formex will also feature an exhibition of favorites among this spring's design school graduates.

  • Iina Vuorivirta on Suomen ehdokas vuoden pohjoismaisen muotoilijapalkinnon saajaksi

    13. elokuuta Pohjoismaiden johtavana sisustusalan uusien tuotteiden, trendien sekä osaamisen ja inspiraation kohtauspaikkana tunnetuilla Formex-messuilla valitaan vuoden pohjoismainen muotoilija, joka saa Nova Design Award -palkinnon. Palkinto myönnetään nuorelle Pohjoismaissa työskentelevälle muotoilijalle.

  • New talent in Young Designers at Formex

    Lisa Bengtsson, Malin Lundmark, Form for you, Sofia Hagelin, Sebastian Kjersén, Kristoffer Fagerström, Simon Key Bertman and Johan Lindsten are some of today’s established designers who started their careers at Young Designers – Formex’s platform for young, unknown designers.
