ECO-Betong from Swerock has been declared the winner of Nordbygg’s Gold Medal for 2020. The award is jointly backed by Nordbygg, industry magazine Byggindustrin and Svensk Byggtjänst. This year, the jury choose to recognize a product with a long history of constant development that could have a crucial impact on the future: climate-enhanced concrete, symbolized by ECO-Betong from Swerock.
Today it was confirmed that industry organization Swedish Wood will be the Sustainability Partner for Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair. This represents a long-term commitment to sustainability for both the fair and Swedish Wood, with a focus on knowledge about using natural materials and recycling to create a more sustainable and circular event.
This year Formex, the Nordic region’s biggest interiors fair, celebrates its 60th anniversary. The fair usually takes place twice a year, but the August event had to be cancelled. Instead, Team Formex provided interior design inspiration via city showcases and digital seminars – an initiative that proved very popular.

Summer Design Week takes place in Stockholm from August 17-23. On display is a selection of the very latest from the Scandinavian design scene, mixed with classics. Nordbygg has been moved to April 20-23, 2021. The decision has been taken in close consultation with Nordbygg’s partners in the construction and real estate industry.
Nordbygg, which was originally meant to take place last week, was initially shifted to the fall of this year, but has now been rescheduled for next year. The new date is April 20-23, 2021.

The first 140 healthcare beds in the external hospital at Stockholmsmässan have been completed and are ready to be inspected and put to use at 11:00 on Wednesday. After the decision from the Swedish government to limit public gatherings, Nordbygg will be postponed until the end of September 2020 instead of April 21-24 as earlier planned.
Until further notice Stockholmsmässan will not conduct events with more than 500 people. This is a result of today’s directions issued by the Swedish government to limit public gatherings due to the recent increase of the spread of COVID-19 in Sweden.

Formex has established the Formex Nova award – Nordic Designer of the Year, to promote high quality Nordic design created by a still relatively unknown designer working in the Nordic interior design industry. A jury appoints the nominees for the award. The winner will be presented August 18.
Design studio Doshi Levien is the Guest of Honour at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair 2020.
