Double Gold for Stylt
It was a double gold for Stylt last week when the prestigious AHEAD in London met to decide the winners of the outstanding new hotel experience in Europe this year. There was tough competition, but the Swedish design agency won two of the 14 categories. Stylt has now brought home four international gold medals this year, in addition to already claiming the title of world champion in two of the hospitality industry’s toughest competitions.
The double win at AHEAD, the Awards for Experience and Design, is the reward for Stylt’s work on the concept, interior design and graphic design of Huus Hotel in Swiss Gstaad. In the Best Bar/Lounge category, the jury was enamoured with its luxurious yet relaxed atmosphere. “Perfectly in tune with the character of the hotel and its surroundings,” was stated as grounds for the award.
In the Visual Identity of the Year category, the victory again went to Stylt and Huus Hotel. The hotel’s brand and graphic profile were complemented for “...its authentic visual identity and thoughtful design” and to add “a dynamic energy to the overall guest experience.”
“The prizes confirm what we hear daily from our guests and the success this hotel has had in Gstaad,” remarks Günter Weilguni, CEO of Huus Gstaad AG.
“From our thesis, Hospitality Design Extraordinaire, we have created a place of personality, open arms and a big heart,” explains Erik Nissen Johansen, Stylt’s founder.
Stylt has currently begun its third hotel project in Switzerland for the same hotel group and in collaboration with Credit Suisse. Since its inception in 1991, this design firm from Gothenburg has established itself in the upper echelon of the international hospitality design world.
Earlier this year Stylt was awarded the Global Award UNESCO Prix Versailles for Best Hotel Decor for their work on the Spedition Hotel, a 15 room hotel including a restaurant, located in Thun, Switzerland. Soon afterwards The Well, in Oslo, Norway, was awarded the world’s best spa facility by The International Hotel & Property Awards, in Italy.
