Stylt nominated for 17 hospitality design awards

Stylt’s international ventures have resulted in a number of well-received projects from Scandinavia and the Baltics, to Germany, Switzerland, France and Dubai. The agency’s steadily growing number of international projects has resulted in a windfall of nominations this year in the hospitality industry's most important competitions, such as WIN Awards, Gold Key Awards and AHEAD Awards; the latter often described as the industry's equivalent to the Oscars.

The nominations are a receipt for our ability to create projects where creativity, business sense and guest experience always work together, says Stylt’s founder, Erik Nissen Johansen.

Among Stylt’s nominated projects are brands such as Scandic’s new signature hotel Downtown Camper which has already been named “World’s Best Hangout” by National Geographic Traveler. The German hotel chain 25hours has a chance to win with Das Tour in Düsseldorf, a hotel that is a hybrid between German engineering and French flair and, of course, cycling and Kraftwerk.

Even the small village of Riksgränsen in Swedish Lappland, 200 km north of the Arctic Circle, has been put on the international design map with Stylt’s nomination for Neihku Mountain Villa. A very personal retreat which combines wildlife experiences, heli-skiing, gastronomy and comfort. Another example is Stylt's restaurant in the newly built LEGO House, the new experience center in Denmark, where guests build their order out of LEGOs and are served by playful robots.

Although each project is unique, they have some important things in common - they are very personal, built on strong concepts and contain a great deal of new thinking, says Erik Nissen Johansen. “Since we work in a rather conservative industry, it’s extra gratifying when new ideas and approaches are recognized.”
