Safety in Ex-areas

Every year there are a number of gas leaks in the petroleum industry. The Petroleum Safety Authority is worried that one of these relatively frequent leaks could cause a serious accident in a land-based or offshore installation. To avoid the possibility leaking gas igniting and creating hazardous situations, there are strict requirements for equipment and training. “Safety in Ex areas” is an e-learning course developed specially for non-electrical personnel who work in hazardous areas offshore or onshore.

Ex-training for non-electrical specialists

Taking this course will increase your knowledge and understanding of safe activity in areas where there are gases and dust that could explode if ignited by a spark or flame. These are known as Ex areas.

Competence provides safety

This course provides the necessary knowledge about dangers, general precautions and risk assessment, to ensure a safe framework for maintenance work in Ex areas. This is how you can contribute to a safe workplace and give yourself and your colleagues a safer working day.

The course is available in both English and Norwegian.
