Clearly better: new sample testing system for mineral water company

A new online method for reporting laboratory sample testing results is expected to reap significant efficiency rewards for a top Welsh soft drinks company.

Innovative software designers 27stars Ltd were selected by Radnor Hills to develop an online laboratory reporting database, enabling the mineral water business to track samples more quickly and efficiently.

27stars, based in Welshpool Powys, created a tailored web application that allows a faster exchange of sample results, providing Radnor Hills with important usable data more cost-effectively in greater detailthan their previous, paper-based methods.

Jo Owen, head project manager at Radnor Hills Mineral Water, said: “As soon as we started to explain the challenges our business faces, the 27stars team was able to offer appropriate solutions for a surprisingly modest investment.

“We anticipate great business benefits as the online database will allow us to track results instantaneously, as well as cutting down on repetitive paperwork and the time it takes to search and retrieve vital documents.

“The new system also supports Radnor Hills’ environmental commitments, as it reduces the company’s paper usage.”

Simon Mills, chairman of 27stars added: “In the food and drink industry, it is vital that companies receive data from product samples quickly and accurately, in order to maintain the high quality customers expect and to meet legislative requirements.

“Our approach is to get under the skin of our clients’ businesses, to fully appreciate their individual needs. Then our team of software development specialists can create an original interactive solution to suit their needs.

“For Radnor Hills, we recognised the importance of quality control in maintaining the business’s food safety procedures, based on HACCP – the guiding principles for controlling hazards in the food industry. The faster exchange of sample testing information will help Radnor Hills to monitor quality more easily.”

27stars specialises in creating interactive solutions to meet its clients’ needs. The company produces intuitive interface designs and expert technical development for the private and public sector .
