Introducing High Performance ZeroU™ IP KVM for Remote Access

New ADDERLink® ipeps mini delivers secure access, smooth motion video and connectivity choice

  • Smallest form factor ever for Adder remote access products.
  • USB powered to reduce operating costs and installation time.
  • Remote BIOS-level access to critical computers.
  • Available in VGA, HDMI™ and DisplayPort™ variants.
  • Native video wall support via RealVNC® compatibility.

Cambridge, United Kingdom (24 MAY 2023) – Adder Technology, a global leader in connectivity solutions and high performance IP KVM, has today announced the latest addition to its successful remote access KVM solutions, the ADDERLink ipeps mini. This new ZeroU dongle combines high performance KVM technology with a small form factor to provide IP remote access over LAN or WAN to a single computer, or wider IT network. Its extensive feature set, and unique design, makes it an ideal solution for anyone looking to optimize rack space, integrate with proprietary machines, reduce operating costs, or enable secure remote access into a more complex solution.

The ipeps mini gives BIOS-level access to critical computers without exposing them to the public internet - meaning users can see and control everything as if connected locally, even in the event of a PC shutdown. The ipeps mini is a hardware-based solution that connects to the public network for remote access, but only requires a KVM connection to the computer. This, combined with AES256 encryption, minimizes risks of security breaches. By utilizing an existing IP network, and an ipeps mini device compatible with RealVNC hardware, users can access, manage, and control physical servers from any location.

Horst Friedrich, Director Product Marketing at R. STAHL HMI Systems, said, “The ADDERLink ipeps mini is a perfect fit for our business. For many years, we have been integrating Adder’s remote access solutions into our human machine interface (HMI) terminals. Using ipeps technology, our customers can connect a networked R. STAHL Thin Client with Remote HMI Firmware to any PC with connected ipeps. The introduction of a USB-powered, small form factor ipeps product will make it even easier for our customers to integrate KVM functionality with our HMIs.”

Built using Adder’s ‘industry first’ ZeroU dongle design, the ipeps mini allows IT teams to optimize rack space and free up processor capacity per rack. The device can be plugged in to the back of a computer, without the need for a complex rackmount kit or lengthy installation. As the ipeps mini is fanless, and USB powered, it uses significantly less energy and simplifies network management by reducing the need for rack power sockets, additional cooling solutions and complex cabling infrastructure.

The ipeps mini operates over an existing LAN network to deliver smooth-motion video at up to 25 fps together with video resolutions of 1920 x 1200. This is ideal for control room video wall integration enabling the video wall to decode the source computer. For customers working in intensive graphics applications such as medical imaging and VFX, and for those requiring precision control, the ipeps mini handles dithered video to ensure smooth color grading plus boasts ultra-low latency mouse control.

The ipeps mini also allows up to eight users simultaneous access to the target computer, without compromising video quality or USB responsiveness. And, when connected to an ADDERLink INFINITY matrix, the ipeps mini becomes a secure remote gateway to the remotely stored computers attached to the IP KVM matrix.

Martin Norman, senior product manager, Adder Technology, commented, “Our goal has always been to provide our customers with cutting edge technology that meets their needs today and tomorrow. The launch of the ADDERLink ipeps mini is another milestone for us, as we continue our mission to revolutionize remote access technology and give our customers more efficient and secure ways to stay connected with colleagues and resources spread across multiple locations.”

The ADDERLink ipeps mini is available through Adder’s global network of distributors and resellers.
