Australian Interactive Marketing Discuss what you should Quit Doing in order to Succeed

Quitting is not a word you will find in Australian Interactive Marketing's dictionary. The Brisbane based direct sales and marketing experts have highlighted some traits and habits entrepreneurs and aspiring professionals must quit in order to succeed.

Australian Interactive Marketing: About the firm

The vast majority of people are too focused on never quitting. People internalise the mantra of “Don’t be a quitter” or “never give in” however, one of the most important things an entrepreneur can do is know the right time to walk away from a situation or a project. Nelson Mandela once said “Quitting Is leading too” and that's a piece of advice Australian Interactive want all entrepreneurs to understand.

Research that has recently been conducted by the University of Rochester found that people are motivated by two sets of goals “avoidance goals” or “approach goals”. Those who fall into the category of approach goals are often motivated by challenges and don’t necessarily have a feasible solution. On the other hand, those who follow avoidance based goals, worry more about failing. They look to avoid failure at all costs. These people will carry on working even when the logical thing to do would be to move on.

Australian Interactive Marketing has devised a list of things people from both camps should stop doing:

Stop self-doubt: Confidence obviously plays a huge role in success. Sometimes in life its just having confidence that will take you to the next level that in an individuals career.

Stop putting things off: The longer someone waits to do something the further away they are from achieving their goals. When things get tough, it's easy to just put them off until tomorrow, but the problem in doing so tomorrow never comes. Saying you’ll do it tomorrow is just an excuse.

Stop doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result: Albert Einstein once said “insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result:

Not everything will work out on its own: It’s easy to think that everything will all work out in the end, but the only way it will is when people are willing to put in the work.

Stop saying yes: By saying “yes” to one thing, people are saying “no” to something else. In saying “yes” to staying late at work, might transpire, to saying “no” to the gym or to time spent with your family.
