Glen Lowes of Complete One addresses aspiring entrepreneurs at Industry Conference

This past weekend, Managing Director at Complete One Glen Lowes added to his growing list of speaking engagements, when he took to the stage to address aspiring entrepreneurs at an industry conference in Edinburgh.

On Sunday June 3rd, Mr Lowes was accompanied by staff and contractors at Newcastle-based Complete One, where they travelled to the Scottish capital to attend a quarterly regional conference. The event was held at the 5-Star Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa. Overlooking the world-famous Edinburgh Castle, the luxurious hotel offers the largest meeting space in the capital.

The day started at 10 a.m. as Mr Lowes and the fellow business owners in attendance were invited to a 30-minute private meeting. The conference got underway at 10:30 a.m when delegates gathered in the Glamis Suite for the official introduction, followed by promotions and an opportunity seminar. After the initial session of the day was finished, attendees were separated into two groups to participate in tailor-made seminars. The first group comprised of rookies, with minimal industry experience, group two was individuals with some industry and leadership experience.

Mr Lowes was one of seven keynote speakers at the event. The Complete One Director had the opportunity to speak to both groups of delegates. Each speaker had a specialist subject to talk about. The speakers in session one, which was held in the Glamis Suite, covered; The opportunities within the industry and why some people don’t make it, the mentality necessary for success, sales skills and knowing your why.

Mr Lowes addressed the rookies on the topic of preparing for business ownership, where he went into detail about the importance of learning the basics and mastering the ground level.

In group two, held in the Edinburgh Suite, speakers covered topics including; setting expectations, how to be a great leader and establish influence, important conversations to have and common concerns. Mr Lowes took to the stage to speak about what it takes to set someone up for success.
