Three residents from Bury have now tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The first Bury case was confirmed on 1 March 2020 after returning from Italy. Following their return to the UK this individual self-isolated and is now being cared for as a matter of precaution at one of the national specialist NHS infection centres.

Joint statement on confirmed COVID-19 cases in Greater Manchester
Dr Will Welfare, Interim Deputy Director, Health Protection for Public Health England NW, said: “Public Health England is contacting people who had close contact with three cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Greater Manchester. Two of the cases are residents of Bury. As a result of contact tracing we know the new Bury cases announced today are known contacts of the previously confirmed case from Bury.
