Health news - your invitation to a workshop on cancer services

Residents are invited to attend a workshop on cancer services on Thursday 10 March at the Fusilier Museum from 10am to noon.

As our population ages and people live longer the proportion of people who will develop cancer at some point in their lives is increasing, but the numbers of people surviving cancer is also increasing.

Following diagnosis and treatment for cancer many people have a whole range of health and social care support needs. For some it might be support to make positive health choices around exercise and diet. Others may experience psychological problems or have difficulty getting back into employment.

Ensuring that Bury has good services that meet the needs of people living with and beyond cancer is a key priority for the CCG, and since our first workshop last year, we have been working on different models of care and support.

At this second public and patient workshop we want to share these ideas and get feedback from local patients and carers to inform our decision making.
