Road closure – A665 Radcliffe New Road

A deep hole has appeared in the middle of the carriageway on A665 Radcliffe New Road opposite its junction with Leicester Road. Currently, the collapse of a United Utilities sewer/manhole is suspected as the cause.

An emergency closure has been put in place on A665 Radcliffe New Road between Dales Lane and Stand Lane. The diversion route is via Dales Lane, Ringley Road and Stand Lane. Temporarily heavy vehicles will be allowed to travel along Dales Lane while the diversion is in place.

A665 Radcliffe New Road will be closed until investigations have taken place by United Utilities. The bus companies and emergency services have been notified.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused but the safety of the public is paramount at all times.
