30 hours’ free childcare – we want your views

Press release -

30 hours’ free childcare – we want your views

If you are a parent, a childcare provider and/or an employer we want to hear from you.

The Government is committed to giving working parents of three and four year olds 30 hours of free childcare per week from September 2017.

Bury has been selected as an Early Implementer Innovator which means that we want to be ready to implement the scheme in time for September 2017.

We would like to hear how the Government’s plans will affect employers, parents and childcare providers and we have designed some short surveys to capture your views on ’30 hours free childcare’.

The surveys are now live at www.theburydirectory.co.uk/30hours - please click and select the appropriate link to give us your thoughts.

If you would prefer to complete a paper copy, please call into your local Children’s Centre.

Your views are very important to us so please complete before the closing date of 1 July 2016.

  • In the meantime, childcare provider Sarah Jones of Ramsbottom won £100 for winning a competition to design a poster for the 30 hours free childcare entitlement. She was presented with her prize by Mark Carriline, the council’s executive director for children, young people and culture.
