A guilt-free Christmas? I Will if You Will!
A fantastic festive promotion has been launched by I Will If You Will (IWIYW) to give women and girls the much-needed motivation for a guilt-free Christmas.
I Will If You Will – the Bury-based female fitness movement delivered by Bury Council with National Lottery funding from Sport England – is giving away Christmas treats in the run-up to the holiday season to help get women and girls more active, more often.
Between Tuesday 1 December and Saturday 12 December 2015, IWIYW will be running a ‘12 Classes of Christmas’ offer to participants at select fitness classes.
Attendees will be entered into a prize draw at the end of each activity and one lucky winner will receive an I Will If You Will goody bag, water bottle, gym towel, t-shirt and a £50 Love2Shop voucher, which can be spent at a range of high street stores and restaurants.
In addition, all IWIYW participants who have registered with Bounts, the free digital health app that tracks and rewards physical activity, will receive triple points for all activity logged between 1 December to 24 December – this could be anything from a gym workout to a brisk walk around the Christmas markets. To register with Bounts, go to www.bounts.it
Fiona Hayward, IWIYW strategic lead, said: “During December attendance at classes does tend to fall, so as an encouragement to keep active we’re offering local ladies a great incentive for a guilt-free Christmas.
“We know how busy things can get in the lead up to Christmas, but putting aside an hour to go to a class is a great way to de-stress and let off a little steam, burn some calories and release lots of feel-good hormones.
“We all feel better after doing a bit of exercise so imagine how good you would feel if you won a £50 voucher too. You could treat yourself to something new to wear at the Christmas party or a nice meal out with family and friends.”
The ‘12 Classes of Christmas’ offer is running at select fitness classes across the borough of Bury and there’s something to suit everyone regardless of age, size or ability.
From dance fitness to indoor boot camps, it’s the perfect opportunity to try something new and burn off some calories before winding down and indulging over Christmas.

About I Will If You Will
I Will If You Will is focused on changing women’s and girls’ behaviours towards taking part in sport and physical activity with the aim of getting more women and girls being more active, more often, and helping improve the health and wellbeing of people in Bury.
It aims to overcome the many practical and emotional barriers to being active, while encouraging women to support each other by joining the I Will If You Will community.
The Phase One campaign (2013–14) was delivered by Bury Council with £2.3 million of National Lottery funding from Sport England. For the Phase Two campaign (2015–16), Sport England has allocated a further £2 million to extend delivery.
The successful IWIYW pilot campaign identified valuable insight and helped develop the foundations for Sport England’s national This Girl Can campaign, which launched in January 2015, as well as Sport England’s practical guide to helping women and girls get active (www.sportengland.org/womenandgirls).
