Press release -

Act now to secure ‘Pitch’ funding of up to £1,500

Community groups still have the opportunity to win up to £1,500 for local projects – but they must submit their applications by Friday 11 May.

It follows the success of The Pitch events in November 2017, when a total of 72 new community projects won public support and received a share of the funding.

Projects should be community-led and demonstrate that they help people to help themselves and others to live a healthy life.

Applications will be presented to the public at a series of ‘Pitch’ events held across the borough in June. Groups, constituted or not, will outline their proposals to local residents within their township, who will then vote on which projects to fund.

There will be six presentation events across the borough:

  • Whitefield and Unsworth - Saturday 2 June
  • Ramsbottom, Tottington and North Manor - Saturday 9 June
  • Radcliffe - Saturday 16 June
  • Prestwich - Sunday 17 June
  • Bury East - Saturday 23 June
  • Bury West – Saturday 30 June

Venues and times will be publicised nearer the date of the events.

Application forms and further information is available at www.theburydirectory.co.uk/thepitch and from Belinda Papworth, programme support officer, on 0161 253 5127.
