Black History Month – Cultural Reflection & Conversation at Bury Art Museum

A special event to celebrate Black History Month will be held at Bury Art Museum on Friday (28 Oct).

All are welcome to attend the “Our Cultural Reflection & Conversation’ event, which is free and runs from 2pm to 4pm.

Charmaine Turner, an artist featured in the museum’s ongoing Spirit of A Place & PRESENCE exhibition, will be joined by gallery curator Susan Lord and special guest Jumoke Ilvebabor, founder of the African & Caribbean Women's Centre in Bury.

Residents are invited to come and talk about their experiences of life in Bury, and bring along any items which have significant meaning to your culture or heritage – either to chat about or donate to the museum’s collections.

This will be a relaxed event and an opportunity to share stories, with all ages welcome.

The Spirit of a Place & PRESENCE exhibition runs until January 2023.
