​Bury College and Council support White Ribbon Day

Bury College was proud to host the 2019 Domestic Violence and Abuse White Ribbon Campaign event, organised by Bury Council.

Services from across Bury provided information to young people about how they can be effectively supported as victims of Domestic Violence and Abuse. Students were given the opportunity to network and ask questions and gain volunteer opportunities in various area within of Domestic Violence and Abuse.

The event is a global event which takes place annually. Bury organisations were delighted to take part in the event and show their support for the global White Ribbon campaign.

Karen Dolton, executive director of children's services at Bury Council, said: “We’re here to raise awareness around domestic abuse and raise the issue and show that it could happen to anybody. We also wanted to show that there are services available to support victims.”
