​Bury East by-election on Thursday 16 August

A by-election will be held in Bury East ward on Thursday 16 August.

The election has been prompted by the resignation of councillor Mike Connolly who had represented the ward for 25 years.

Anyone who wishes to stand as a candidate in the by-election has until 4pm on Friday 20 July to submit their nomination forms. Nomination papers can be collected from the elections office at Bury Town Hall.

  • Are you on the voters’ roll, or need a postal vote, for this by-election? Closing date to be registered is Tuesday 31 July and the closing date to apply for a postal vote is Wednesday 1 August. Email electionservices@bury.gov.uk or call 0161 253 5252.
