Press release -

Bury residents help shape the future of social care

Residents, customers and carers have been playing their role in saying how services could be improved for them.

They attended the fourth Bury Council ‘Customer Task Force’, held at the Elizabethan Suite at Bury Town Hall.

Visitors came from organisations across the borough including the Adult Learning Centre, Bury People First, the Carers Centre and Falcon and Griffin Extra Care Scheme, to take part in interactive
workshops and share their experiences.

They helped the council design its social care information system so that it better suited their needs when searching the internet. They also gave their views of the ‘Paying for your care’ guide and discussed how to promote the Township Forums and their work across the borough.

Councillor Rishi Shori, cabinet member for health and wellbeing, said: “The event was a great success and we managed to recruit ten more Task Force members. I’d like to say a big ‘thank you’ to all those who took part – your feedback is greatly appreciated, and we’re looking forward to the next event and the future of social care services.”
