Bury Works: Work Well - a new service to support those with health issues with their employment
A new service has been launched to help residents who are at risk of losing their jobs or have recently become unemployed due to health-related challenges.
The WorkWell programme, launched by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC), is the latest initiative from Bury Works, the single access point for all enquiries regarding employability, work, health and skills in Bury.
It offers tailored support to help individuals stay in or return to work, offering a range of services to address both physical and mental health concerns.
If you are looking for advice, emotional support, or practical guidance, the team will help you regain your confidence, improve your well-being, and navigate your path back into or staying in the workforce.
It also aims to boost people’s social interaction, their self-esteem and personal growth, and develop new skills and career prospects.
The programme will accept referrals until 31 March 2026. Support services are available through telephone, online or in-person consultations.
Residents should self-refer using this link Bury Works | WorkWell Programme. Alternatively, email Buryworksworkwell@bury.gov.ukand a team member will get in touch to discuss how we can best support your journey back to work or help you remain employed.
