Busy market just gets busier

New coach bays have been created as Bury’s famous market goes from strength to strength.

Visitor numbers are now so high that a parking bay for up to four coaches has been created on Wellington Road, Bury.

It complements the existing bays for up to 12 coaches which run along Market Street.

The new bay will allow coach parking only on full market days – Wednesday, Friday and Saturday – between 10am and 4pm. The bay can be used by other vehicles at any other times, and is due to ‘go live’ at the end of the month.

Andrew Heyes, Bury markets manager, said: “Our award-winning market attracts people from across the country – last year we had more than 1,500 coaches coming here. These facilities should be welcomed by coach operators and their passengers alike, and we look forward to welcoming many more visitors to Bury Market.”
