Busy start to new year in Whitefield
A packed agenda awaits visitors to Whitefield and Unsworth Township Forum on Tuesday 8 January 2013.
First Bus director Paul Turner has agreed to attend the meeting to bring details of amendments to bus services which will start at the end of January.
Senior council officers will be on hand to present details of the Plan For Change programme and to answer questions from the floor.
There will also be a presentation on the health and well-being strategy for Bury and how health matters will be addressed in future.
The meeting will be held at the Elms Centre in Whitefield starting at 1pm. It will include the usual open forum and updates from the police. Residents can also speak to local police officers before the meeting, from 12.30pm.
Councillor Ken Audin, forum chair, said: “We hope that local residents will come along and join us at the meeting. The Whitefield and Unsworth winter meetings are scheduled for the afternoon as this has been a popular thing to do in this area. The agenda again focuses on issues that affect the communities of Whitefield and Unsworth and we want to hear the views of local people.”
