​By-election result – Conservatives retain Church ward

Dene Vernon retained Church ward for the Conservatives in tonight’s Bury Council by-election which was held following the death of councillor Susan Nuttall.

The result:

  • Charlie Allen (Green Party)…….235
  • Stephen Lewis (Liberal Democrats)……213
  • Sam Turner (Labour Party)…….2,172
  • Dene Vernon (Conservative Party Candidate)…..3,317

The turnout was 69.74%.

The line-up on Bury Council remains at: Labour 28 seats, Conservatives 16, Liberal Democrats 4, Radcliffe First 2, and Independent 1.
