Call the shots at ‘no strings’ badminton

Bury Leisure and Badminton England are offering a new coached ‘no strings’ badminton session at Castle Leisure Centre between 9.45am and 11.15am on Tuesdays every week.

‘No strings’ badminton sessions are ideal for anyone looking to improve their skills, get back into the game after a break, or develop new skills from scratch.

The Tuesday morning coached sessions are for anyone aged 16+ and cost just £3 each for up to 90 minutes, providing a low-cost way to enjoy a relaxed game. There is no need to book or have a playing partner and each session will be led by Adam Atkins, UKCC Level 2 certified badminton coach.

Councillor Karen Leach, deputy cabinet member for health and wellbeing, said: “These new coached sessions cover all the essential badminton skills and are a great way to start your badminton journey. They’re also really informal, friendly and loads of fun.

“Don’t miss this low-cost opportunity to enjoy weekly court time with a qualified coach. It’s a great way to kickstart a more active lifestyle, boost fitness and meet new people too. ”

Other ‘no strings’ badminton sessions running at Bury Leisure sports centres are:

- 8.15pm to 8.45pm at Castle Leisure Centre on Tuesdays

- 5.15pm to 6.45pm at Radcliffe Leisure Centre on Thursdays.

These sessions aren’t led by a coach but there are always experienced players on hand to help any beginners.
