Candidates declared for Bury Council elections

The candidates have been confirmed for the Bury Council elections which will take place on Thursday 5 May.

All of the council’s 51 seats will be decided at this poll, three in each of the 17 wards in the borough. It means residents can vote for up to three candidates on polling day.

Meanwhile, residents have until midnight on Thursday 14 April to make sure they are on the electoral register and therefore entitled to vote. To register to vote, go to https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.You will be asked for your National Insurance number, but you can still register if you do not have one.

If you want a postal vote, download a form at https://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/voter/apply-vote-post

and return it before 5pm on Tuesday 19 April. You will be sent a ballot paper approximately two weeks before the day of the election.
