Press release -

Chance for young people to build their own businesses

Young people are being invited to develop their entrepreneurial skills at a special Bury Youth Market.

The event has been organised by Bury Youth Cabinet, supported by Bury Children’s Trust Board, and takes place on Saturday 28 June at the Fusilier Museum in Bury.

It is open to anyone aged 11-19 who lives or studies in Bury. They can either create items to sell or promote a business such as dog walking or babysitting.

In order to obtain a stall at the market, young people must first attend a training session delivered by Barclays Bank. There is a choice of two sessions, either on Tuesday 25 March or Wednesday 2 April, from 4pm to 6pm. These sessions will look at entrepreneurial skills, giving young people a vital insight into the business world.

For further information or an application form, call Heather Walton on 0161 253 7165 or 07900 188695 or email h.walton@bury.gov.uk. Applications will be reviewed on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
