Could you be entitled to Pension Credit? Come to one of our advice sessions

Sessions are being held across Bury to advise people on Pension Credit and helping them to apply if they qualify.

Pension Credit can be worth £3,900 a year and, by claiming it, you are then entitled to more benefits such as the Winter Fuel Allowance.

Drop in to any of the following sessions (or you can call our Bury Council Pension Credit advice line on 0161 253 7430):

  • Ramsbottom Library – Every Tuesday starting from 29 Oct (10.30am to 4pm) and every Thursday starting from 31 Oct (1pm to 4pm)
  • Prestwich Library – Every Tuesday starting from 29 Oct (10.30am to 4pm) and every Thursday starting from 31 Oct (1pm to 4pm)
  • Bury Library – Every Wednesday starting from 30 Oct (10.30am to 4pm) and every Friday starting from 1 Nov (10.30am to 4pm)
  • Outreach Community and Residential Services, Blackburn Street, Radcliffe – Every Monday starting from 4 Nov (10.30am to 2.30pm)
  • Mill Gate Centre, Bury (Your Space @ Our Place) – Every Monday starting from 11 Nov (10am to 3pm) and every Wednesday starting from 13 Nov (10am to 3pm)
  • The Green Community Café, Clarence Park, Bury – every Tuesday from 12 Nov (12pm to 2pm)

Councillor Sandra Walmsley, cabinet member for communities and inclusion, said: “Thousands of people across Bury are eligible to receive Pension Credit but are not claiming it. Perhaps they don’t know they are entitled to it, or don’t know how to apply for it. That’s why we’re running these advice sessions, so that Bury residents can get the extra financial help they are entitled to.”
