Family fun day with recycling at its heart

Families are invited to a free day of fun this Sunday (23 March) as part of a campaign to improve recycling rates in Radcliffe East.

A huge range of events has been arranged for the big day, which takes place at Radcliffe Hall Primary School and Close Park from 1pm to 4pm.

Youngsters can take part in a trash fashion show, and there are craft activities, a compost craft event, face painting, a glitter tattooist, DJ, and a technology corner. There is also a treasure hunt in Close Park, and a ‘beat the bin men’ game, plus prizes and giveaways.

There’s even free bus transport to take residents to the event: full details are at http://upandforward.recycleforgreatermanchester.com/community-events/

Anyone who wants to take part in the trash fashion show should call Michelle on 0161 770 1764.

Sunday’s event has been organised by Bury Council and Greater Manchester Waste Disposal Authority as part of an EU-funded campaign.
