Famous Bury Market receives 1,000th review on TripAdvisor

Star attraction Bury Market has just received its 1,000th review on the world’s largest travel site TripAdvisor.

The award-winning market enjoys a high rating of 4.5 stars out of 5, and has previously been voted the #1 retail attraction in Greater Manchester by contributors to Tripadvisor.

The 1,000th review said: “After moving south over a decade ago it was nice having a trip around Bury’s world famous market. Unspoiled and still in keeping with how a traditional market should be. Be warned, it’s huge and very popular. Some great bargains to be had on the food stalls, many of them offering tasters.”

With its 300-plus stalls, Bury has won the Market of the Year four times in the last decade, and attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every week. More than 1,600 coach tours were made to the market last year.

Markets manager Andrew Heyes said: “We are delighted that so many visitors have given such positive feedback via TripAdvisor, and we have received their Certificate of Excellence for several years now. We hope that these high ratings will encourage many more people to come to Bury and enjoy our unique market atmosphere for themselves.”
