Fire service donation to Mayor’s good causes

Three families will be enjoying an exciting day out at Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service’s new training and safety centre in Bury.

Officers have donated certificates for family days with the Service to the Mayor of Bury, Councillor Dorothy Gunther, who will auction them off to raise money for her chosen charities.

The certificates were presented to the mayor by Bury and Whitefield station manager Craig Pinder and safety centre manager Kelly Richardson.

Cllr Gunther said: “It is such a privilege to have access to this facility, seeing how our firefighters strive for excellence in their training. I’m thrilled that this access is being extended to members of our community by way of these certificates to support my charities; Bury Hospice, Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary and the RNLI. This is a superb training centre and the people of Bury are very proud that the fire service chose this area for it.”

Station manager Craig Pinder said: “It’s an absolute pleasure to support the mayor’s charities and to invite the community of Bury to participate in our facility and experience the interactive training experiences.”
