Press release -
Four more fined for littering
A further four people have been fined for dumping their waste on the streets of the borough.
Fines of £75 were given for offences of littering at St Thomas Court, Heywood Street, Wash Lane and Calder Close, all in Bury.
More than 200 fines have been issued for littering and fly-tipping across Bury in the last three years, and more than 20 people have been prosecuted in court.
Councillor Alan Quinn, cabinet member for the environment, climate change and operations, said: “Everyone hates litter – it blights our communities, and costs tax payers money to clear it up. We will continue to take action against those who dump their rubbish in our borough.”
