Press release -

Get composting and make your garden grow

Bury Council is encouraging people to take up composting at home or get together and set up a composting community.

Residents can buy discounted compost converters from just £17.98 and buy a second converter from only £8.99 under a ‘buy one get one half price’ offer provided by the council in partnership with Get Composting.

Home composting is an easy and effective way of transforming kitchen and garden waste into a valuable and nutrient-rich food for gardens. It’s easy to make and has significant benefits for the environment.

Recycling officers from the council will be on Bury Market on Wednesday 4 May, as part of Compost Awareness Week, offering advice to help people get started with composting at home.

Glenn Stuart, head of waste management at the council, said: “Composting is simple to do and what you get in return for your efforts is a free supply of top quality compost. This not only helps to put some life back into your garden but it benefits the environment too.”

To find out about the range of compost bins and accessories available, visit www.getcomposting.com or phone 0844 571 4444. The ‘buy one, get one half price’ offer is available on selected products and a one-off delivery charge of £5.99 applies.
