Grants still available for pubs and businesses hit by lockdown

Pub owners who primarily serve alcohol rather than food are reminded that they have until 31 January to claim a £1,000 Covid grant.

The Christmas ‘bonus’ is available to landlords who get less than 50% of their income from food, but council officers are concerned that not everyone who is eligible has so far applied.

For details, go to https://www.bury.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=15956

Pubs which have already been paid a Local Restrictions Support Grant can also apply for a Christmas Support Payment.

Also – Local Restrictions Support Grants and closed business lockdown payments are still available for eligible businesses. Check our web page and make an application: https://www.bury.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=15257

If you have already been awarded a Local Restrictions Support Grant you do not need to claim again for any ongoing periods; payments will be sent automatically to cover the period that Bury remains in local restrictions.

Councillor Eamonn O’Brien, leader of Bury Council, said: “Businesses across Bury have been badly affected by the coronavirus restrictions, and we are determined to help them get all the money they are entitled to. I urge any eligible companies who have not already applied to do so before the deadline.”
