Press release -

Have your say about Bury's night-time economy

Bury Council is working with its partner agencies and local businesses to achieve ''Purple Flag'' status for the town centre’s night-time economy.

Purple Flag is a national accreditation scheme for town centres at night, similar to Blue Flags for beaches and Green Flags for Parks. Town centres that achieve Purple Flag are safe, vibrant, appealing, well managed and offer a positive experience to visitors.

The council is now seeking the views of people who use Bury town centre at night, and from those who do not – the deadline for comments is Tuesday 19 August.

Bury could become the first town centre in Greater Manchester (outside the city) to achieve Purple Flag status, which would bring a range of benefits and promotional opportunities for businesses and customers alike.

All replies will be treated in strict confidence and will only be used for the purpose of this survey.
