Health, population and community facts and figures on new website

Bury Council has launched a new website which will provide a wealth of health and well-being facts and figures for residents and professionals alike.

The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment website - www.theburyjsna.co.uk - has been developed with Team Bury partners to bring a range of expert statistics and analysis ‘under one roof’.

It is linked to the Bury Directory, Bury’s one-stop information point for information about local services, advice and support. It contains information about the local population and demographics, community and environment, health and well-being, and living and working in Bury, along with a range of statutory publications.

It will highlight areas where the council and its partners need to reduce local health inequalities and improve results for local people, ensuring that resources are better targeted to areas of need.

Councillor Trevor Holt, cabinet member for health and well-being, said: “The new JSNA website will be an invaluable source of intelligence and research for local residents and commissioners. It will help us identify and set out what our local health and wellbeing priorities, needs and assets will be in the future.

“In the current climate, where funding is limited, it’s important that we work with our Team Bury partners to share the intelligence we have available about the local population, and ensure that we make best use of the resources available.”

You can view the new JSNA website at: www.theburyjsna.co.uk.

For further information about the new JSNA website, please contact Jon Hobday, consultant in public health on 0161 253 6879 or by email: j.hobday@bury.gov.uk or Helen Smith, public health and social care intelligence manager at Bury Council, on 0161 253 6338 or by e-mail: h.smith@bury.gov.uk
