Improved road signals near new Lidl store in Bury

Work will start in September to introduce traffic signals and new pedestrian crossing facilities at the junction of Bolton Road/Victoria Street, Bury.

Alterations will also be carried out to Victoria Street to create the entrance to the new Lidl store which is currently being built.

The works, promoted and constructed by Lidl UK GmbH, aim to improve access and road safety around the junction and improve conditions for pedestrians.

The highway works are scheduled to begin on 1 September and last for eight weeks, during which time there will be lane closures/traffic management in place during off-peak periods (9.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday).

There will also be statutory undertakers’ work related to the new Lidl store, which will mean the closure of Victoria Street from 14 September for approximately one week.
