Press release -

Invitation to Backing Young Bury’s career and skills event

Are you aged between 17 and 24 and unsure what career path to take? Would you like to meet local employers and try out different types of work?

If the answer is ‘yes’, you are invited to the Backing Young Bury career and skills event which is held at the Elizabethan Suite in Bury Town Hall on Wednesday 5 March from 11am to 4pm.

The aim is to give young people an understanding of the world of work and the variety of careers, jobs and apprenticeships that are available. It will also give them an idea of what skills and personal attributes employers are looking for.

The Skills Show Experience is part of the European Social Fund Technical Assistance project, awarded to the Skills Funding Agency to promote the European Social Fund. It is co-funded by the Skills Funding Agency to deliver the National Careers Service at such events. Premier sponsors include City and Guilds, the Edge Foundation and Premier Colleges.

  • There are still places at this event for local businesses who want to engage with young people and have their own company publicised to hundreds of people.

For more details of this event, and Backing Young Bury in general, call 0161 253 6140 or email backingyoungbury@bury.gov.uk
