Learn how to build your business at Bury Library

Another series of sessions is coming to Bury Library to help local people to start up or grow their own business.

Four workshops, starting later in January, will demonstrate market research, business planning, intellectual property, registration and much more.

Experts will help you put together a plan for your next steps and offer further support – and it’s all free of charge.

The Build a Business sessions are as follows:

  • Know your market25 Jan (10am-1pm). Do you know who your customers really are? How much they will spend on your product or service? Why they choose one over another? Why would they choose you over a competitor? This workshop will give you the knowledge to research your customer and find sales through market research.
  • Intellectual property1 Feb (10am-1pm). Intellectual property can be worth cash to your business. Make sure your product, service, website and brand are protected from would-be copycats or do not infringe others’ rights.
  • Business Basics- 8 Feb (10am-1pm).Join Wendy Breakell, entrepreneur and named one of the top 50 business advisors in the North West. This workshop covers the essential ‘nuts and bolts’ of starting up and running a successful enterprise, including legal structures, costs, cashflow and more
  • Marketing15 Feb (10am-1pm). Join Rachel Craig and Karen Macwee from Ruche Marketing who will be delivering Build a Business’s all-new marketing workshop on how to build an effective marketing strategy, plan marketing campaigns, build a brand through consistent marketing, creating effective social media content and more.

In addition to the workshops, ongoing support is available from your Enterprise Officer, access to a £5 million collection of UK and global business databases (including market research and company and financial information), and support from the BIPC Manchester.
