Local election results in Bury

Labour now have a majority of 19 seats on Bury Council following last night’s (Thursday 7 May) local elections.

Labour gained 1 seat from an Independent, but the Conservatives took 1 seat from Labour, as did the Liberal Democrats.

One third of the council’s 51 seats were up for election, and the turnout was 64.9%.

The new balance on Bury Council is: Labour 35 seats, Conservatives 12, Liberal Democrats 2, and Independent 2.
