Made in Bury – rewarding our community heroes

Outstanding individuals and groups will receive a big ‘thank you’ at the third annual Made in Bury Community Awards.

Residents are being asked to nominate their community champions, and the winners will presented with their certificates at the annual meeting of Bury Council on 20 May.

There are four categories:

• Outstanding Contribution to a Township (single award)

• Young Person and/or Young Person’s Group – outstanding community contribution (25 or under)

• Volunteer of the Year Award

• Good Neighbour Award

All nominees must live, work, study or volunteer in the borough of Bury.

The deadline for nominations is Friday 24 April, and the decisions will be made by a judging panel chaired by Councillor Jane Lewis, cabinet member for communities and culture.

Cllr Lewis said: “We all know people who make an outstanding contribution to their area, and it’s only right that we publicly thank them for their commitment and achievements. There are lots of caring people in Bury working to support their community or voluntary group, so please let us know who you think is most deserving of a Made in Bury award.”
