Moorside Election called for Thursday 18 June 2026
The election for the Moorside Ward of Bury Council will take place on Thursday 18 June 2026 – and residents are reminded that they will need photo ID to vote in person.
The election in the ward was cancelled following the death of one of the candidates, Victor Hagan, who was standing for Reform UK.
The date has been set as a new election must be held within 35 working days of the planned local elections on Thursday 7 May and new poll cards will be sent to all affected voters.
Candidates who were nominated before the election was cancelled will remain on the ballot paper. New nominations can be accepted and anyone who wishes to stand for the election must obtain the relevant form from the Returning Officer at Bury Town Hall and return it by 4pm on Thursday 21 May 2026. At this election, residents in Moorside ward will be voting for one councillor.
If you vote at a polling station, you will need to show identification which contains a photograph of you.
