Press release -

Moorside Library proves there is such a thing as a free lunch!

People living in the Moorside area of Bury will have a job to keep up this month as there is so much going on at the Community Centre and Library.

On 19 October a new Friday 'Winter Warmer' luncheon club will start and run every week for six months. Local people will have the chance to take part in a variety of activities, listen to speakers and enjoy a free lunch. Due to funding criteria, the event is restricted to people living locally and the sessions are restricted to a maximum of 20 people each time, so places must be booked in advance.  If anyone is interested in becoming a volunteer to help organise the luncheon club then they should contact the Centre. Likewise if you are interested in being a guest speaker or you are an entertainer or would like to run an activity one week, apply by calling 0161 253 5201.

The following Tuesday, 23 October 2012 at 2pm, sees the return of the Mad Science Team http://madscience.org/ for a third time.  The team will first give a scientific demonstration and then conduct an interactive hands-on session for the first 40 people who arrive for this event. Aimed at all ages the previous two visits have been a smash hit with up to 120 attending to date.

In the final week of October, starting on the 29 and every Monday for six weeks will be a new cooking group for the over 6’s. Sessions start after school at 4pm and cost £2 per session.  The first of its kind, the event aims to focus on health, nutrition and learning various cookery skills and will run for a trial period.

For further information and to book your place on any of these events contact 0161 253 5201 or Email: Moorside.lib@bury.gov.uk
