More people fined for fly-tipping and littering
A further four people have been fined for dumping their waste on the streets of the borough.
Fines of £400 were given for offences of fly-tipping in Stand Lane, Radcliffe; Meade Hill Road, Prestwich; and Drinkwater Park, Prestwich.
A fourth person was fined £75 for littering in Burrswood Avenue, Bury.
More than 200 fines have been issued for littering and fly-tipping across Bury in the last three years, and more than 20 people have been prosecuted in court.
Councillor Alan Quinn, cabinet member for the environment, climate change and operations, said: “These people know what they’re doing, and they don’t care if they spoil our neighbourhoods for the residents who live there. We will continue to take action against those who dump their rubbish in our borough.”
