New Enterprise Centre set to boost business and growth in Radcliffe town centre

Bury Council has officially taken possession of the keys to the new Radcliffe Enterprise Centre, marking a major milestone in plans to boost business growth and create new opportunities in the heart of Radcliffe.

The centre will operate from the ground floor of the existing Radcliffe Library on Stand Lane, following a period of fit‑out works that are underway. Library services will continue to operate uninterrupted from the first floor until they relocate to the new £40m Radcliffe Hub, set to open by the end of the year.

Once complete and fully opened later this year, the Radcliffe Enterprise Centre will provide flexible workspaces, modern meeting rooms, and on‑site business support services. Designed to help small businesses start up and grow, it will offer a multi-functional environment for local entrepreneurs, freelancers, and early‑stage companies looking to develop in a supportive, collaborative setting.

Councillor Charlotte Morris, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Growth, said: “Today’s handover marks another important step in delivering our long‑term vision for Radcliffe. The Radcliffe Enterprise Centre will give local businesses the space, support and confidence they need to innovate and thrive.

“By regenerating existing buildings and investing in high-quality business facilities, we’re turning investment into real places for our communities to live, work and spend time, creating a stronger local economy and helping ensure Radcliffe remains a place where people can build successful careers and businesses.”

The Radcliffe Enterprise Centre forms part of the wider regeneration programme for the town, focused on creating new opportunities, improving public services, and supporting long‑term economic growth.

Initially, the enterprise centre will be situated only on the ground floor. When Radcliffe Library relocates to the new Radcliffe Hub, the enterprise centre will expand into the rest of the building.

The construction project began in June 2025, involving a complete refit of the ground floor, including the construction of 8 self-contained offices and co-working space. A new boiler and heating system were installed along with a new electricity supply and energy-efficient lighting, with works carried out by Eric Wright Construction.
